Direct Financial Assistance for Holocaust Survivors

How The Blue Card Helps Holocaust Survivors Live With Dignity, Safety, and Independence

The Blue Card receives funding and donations to provide financial assistance to poverty-stricken Holocaust survivors.

These funds help us achieve our mission to ensure survivors live out their golden years with respect and dignity, safe and independent in their homes, and with the feeling that there are still people who care.

Why This Support Matters

Many Holocaust survivors carry deep trauma connected to being forced from their homes into ghettos, camps, hiding places, or exile. For many, the fear of losing their home is not an ordinary financial concern. It is a painful reminder of profound loss, displacement, and terror.

Many survivors also have no family left. They live with isolation, fragile health, and the painful feeling that they have once again been forgotten in a time of need.

Through funding and donations, The Blue Card gives direct financial assistance to Holocaust survivors who need it most. Our work helps survivors remain in their homes, meet urgent needs, maintain their health, and feel supported with care and compassion.

Prescription Support

The Blue Card’s Medication Assistance Grant

This program provides financial assistance to help Holocaust survivors purchase lifesaving medication and cover prescription co-pays.

Survivors living on limited monthly incomes and pensions are too often forced to ration medication because of cost. The support they receive through The Blue Card relieves that burden and helps them access critical treatment without added financial distress.

Safety at Home

Telephone Emergency Response System (TERS)

The Blue Card’s goal is to help Holocaust survivors remain in their own homes and stay independent for as long as possible.

Because of their Holocaust experience, many survivors suffer severe anxiety at the thought of being forced to leave home and move into a nursing facility. TERS helps relieve that fear with a life-preserving emergency alert system worn around the neck, wrist, or used as a landline unit.

With one press of a button, the survivor is instantly connected to a care specialist who can contact help when needed, providing 24/7 support and peace of mind for both survivors and families.

The Blue Card provides this system to survivors who do not have the financial resources to cover installation, ongoing service, or maintenance.
