LA Fire, Hurricane, and Natural Disasters Relief
As extreme weather continues to impact regions across the country, The Blue Card is actively reaching out to Holocaust survivors to ensure their safety. The devastation from LA Fires, Hurricanes Helene and Milton has created urgent needs for survivors, particularly in Southern California, Asheville, Tampa Bay, and Southern Georgia, where there is a critical demand for food, medical supplies, and caregiver support.
The Los Angeles area fires have created urgent needs for Holocaust survivors, and as it did in response to the devastation caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the Southeast, The Blue Card is reaching out to ensure survivors’ safety and provide financial and emotional assistance through its partnership organizations.
The Blue Card’s hurricane relief helped survivors like Eda in Black Mountain, NC, who lost power for two weeks, receive emergency aid to replenish groceries and essential supplies. In LA, The Blue Card is coordinating with local volunteers and synagogues to answer the call of those affected by the crisis.
With so many people displaced from their homes in LA, The Blue Card’s Natural
Disasters and Severe Weather Fund is providing life-saving support, including food and vital medical care, to those affected. Contributions to this fund are critical to ensuring Holocaust survivors receive the help they need during these challenging times.
The Blue Card is committed to supporting Holocaust survivors in times of need. We provided essential supplies, including masks, humidifiers, and mood lights, to enhance their well-being. Additionally, we assisted agencies with a grant to aid relief efforts for those affected by the recent Los Angeles fires, ensuring that survivors and their communities receive the care and support they deserve.
